You may have watched our video on the 2 drops in a knot we posted last week and started thinking “this looks fun and all…but how do I tie a knot in the first place?!” Well wonder no more! We now have a video on how to tie a knot in your aerial silks AND how to remove it when it’s stuck! Click HERE to check it out!

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel when you get there so you can be the first to know when we post a new video! We will be posting tips, tricks, and lots of fun things on our channel WEEKLY!

Learning to tie a knot can be a bit tricky and it is easy to forget which way to wrap. Try following these helpful hints I used when teaching my students:

1. Hug the silk

2. Do a hair flip 💁‍♀️

3. Hold out your hand saying “gimme! gimme!” (like Bruce Lee’s “bring it”)

4. Use your other hand to bring the tail of the silk to the “gimme” hand

5. Open the window with the newly freed hand

6. Pull the silk through

After hanging out in your knot for a bit and doing some drops, you may find that your knot is really tight. If removing your knot by pulling the two tails apart (as in the video) or by pulling apart the knot (see photo ->) is still tough, try tying a footlock on one of the silk ends and playing tug-of-war with yourself. Check out our video on how to do this.

Enough with the reading already! Get to the fun stuff…watching and doing! Click on any of the photos above to view the full video on YouTube. Have fun and stay Fly!
